For the THIRD TIME THE COUNTY WOULDN'T DISCUSS WAGES!
WTF! How can you bargain in good faith and not be prepared to discuss wages after three meetings?
The County with the highest paid Sheriff in the State, at $158,000 a year, and the highest paid County Board at $104,000 a year keeps the essential employees in the largest jail in the state, and their 911 operators as the LOWEST PAID in the seven county metro area.
Apparently public safety doesn't rank high on the list of the Hennepin County Board!

This is a repost from a MNPEA Steward who was at the negotiation. It's from a MNPEA site:
The contract negotiations meeting started with a wake up call after MNPEA attorney Joe D. asked Labor relations Todd O. if Hennepin was waiting for their negations with AFSCME to end before any money proposal would be made to our group and Todd admitted that that was the process that was being followed and that he was confident that AFSCME would settle their contract next week Monday and then he would have a better idea on what he would be authorized to make for our money proposal.
Dave Deal said we would consider that an impasse and that if there was to be no money proposal offer now that MNPEA would be filing for mediation immediately. Dave told Joe to file for meditation first thing Friday (11-13) morning.
In other words, Hennepin County really only bargains with AFSCME! This is NOT bargaining in good faith.
