I'm happy to report that after meeting with the jail Captain we were able to resolve the issue of being able to eat in staff dining during eight hour training shifts. Teamsters Local 320 no longer considers the Sheriff's Office to be in violation of article 36 of the Agreement.
You can once again eat lunch in staff dining when you are assigned to work eight hours of training at the PSF!
Great Job!!!!

Knee jerk! Knee jerk! Can we think things through next time before we make a decision? Maybe include at least ONE person that it affects in the decision making process? That would be great. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteKnee jerk? Would you rather I didn't enforce the contract if it makes waves? FYI only 4 people voiced any concern over enforcing article 36 of our contract, and only two were members of our bargaining unit. Support was overwhelming from our members, the licensed deputies (who wondered why their association was silent), the detention supervisors even some lieutenants. The detention supervisors were also at the meeting fighting to support this same clause in their contract.
ReplyDeletePretty soon they will be telling us when we can/can't breath! No internet, no telephone calls, no windows, no swearing, no, no, no... What is going on around there? How about I NO longer work there! EASE UP!
